NBCC is a non-profit, community-supported organization that provides a nurturing environment for children that fosters their emotional, intellectual, social and physical well-being. NBCC believes that the three most important components of a high quality child care program are:
In addition to our full-day, year-round services, we have created wonderfully unique educational programs with the help of the community at large. We have two campuses in Novato, one at 932 C Street and one at 22 Tinker Way. In 2006 we opened two sites in Petaluma that offer before-and-after for school-age children to the age of 12, and morning preschool.
At NBCC, we see our children's development as a community-effort and also a community benefit. We work in partnership with our friends and supporters to promote a strong sense of community and offer a comprehensive array of support services to the families we serve. Since our incorporation in 1986, NBCC has served more than 900 children and their families! All of NBCC's sites include our Garden of Eatin' health and nutrition program which not only brings the joy of gardening to our children's lives, but enables NBCC to teach and develop healthy eating habits through our meal programs by incorporating our own garden fresh fruits and vegetables into the daily meal programs and partnering with community partners for healthy living. In its first year, Garden of Eatin' has been recognized and selected from nearly 1000 school programs nationwide to receive a 2005 Youth Garden Grant from the National Gardening Association (NGA) in Vermont. | |||||||||
