Volunteer

NBCC relies heavily on the volunteer efforts of local service organizations, high-school community service programs, retired seniors and local business leaders to serve on its committees and board, make site improvements, organize fundraising events, and help in classrooms and gardens. In addition, NBCC has been a worksite for the "Day of Caring" volunteers from Fireman's Fund, AIG, Rebuilding Together, and Novato Leadership. As a private non-profit community-based agency, NBCC is governed by a volunteer board of directors. The 15-member board is comprised of community leaders and representatives from NBCC's parent population.

Individuals or organizations wishing to volunteer for the North Bay Children's Center should contact Associate Director Jayne Johnson at (415) 883-6222.

Volunteer in the Community Garden. Volunteers are needed to help in our Garden of Eatin' with planting, weeding, harvesting, and assisting children with special garden projects. To learn more about supporting this exciting project you can call NBCC's Master Gardener, David Haskell, at (415) 883-6222.

Volunteer in our Classrooms. Volunteers are always welcome to help our in our programs. Enjoy reading, rocking and feeding babies, playing a musical instrument, or assisting with arts and crafts activities.

Volunteer for Site Improvement Projects. Join us for our community work days scheduled by Jayne Johnson, Associate Director, on a quarterly basis. We can use your help with painting, facility repairs, and landscaping.

Volunteer for Fundraising Events. If party planning, decorating, golf tournaments or auctions are your thing - you will love working with NBCC's board and staff members on NBCC's signature events.

Be a Volunteer Board Member. A volunteer Board made up of individuals from the community, as well as NBCC's parent population governs NBCC. The Board meets on the last Tuesday of each month from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
