Infants Program

Our staff is committed to easing the transition of families into our program.  Our focus is about providing a safe, nurturing, calm environment for children and caregivers to build trust which is necessary for healthy infant development.

Our Infant Program provides care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 months with a teacher to child ratio of 1:3.  Our staff is well-versed educationally in the developmental needs of children this age.

Program Managers work closely with the infant classroom team to provide parents with a “Needs and Service Plan” which focuses on each child’s individual needs.  We provide healthy baby foods including rice and oatmeal cereals.  Parents prepare their own formula and bring it or breast milk with them to the center.

Our facilities for infants include sleep and play areas allowing for staff to control the appropriate amount of stimulation infants require and respond best to throughout the day.  We have adjustable lighting and a comfortable lactation/nursing area for mothers who wish to nurse their children in a warm, nurturing setting.  Breast milk can be frozen or brought in on a daily basis.

Children are monitored and assessed in each of their areas of development.  The staff provides classroom toys, educational materials and curriculum which enhances the rapidly developing baby.  There is a continued focus upon Early Childhood Education “best practices” as everyone progresses through the day.

Older Infant Program

Our Older Infant Program provides care for children ages 12 to 20 months with a teacher to child ratio of 1:4.  This program meets the needs of the more mobile baby and provides more structure to the child’s day.  The children eat their meals together, graduate from cribs to sleeping mats and take one daily nap.  Bottles are eliminated and “sippy” cups are introduced.  The classroom is arranged to allow for the mobile infant to move about in a safe environment as they develop their newly found walking, balancing and overall gross motor skills.

Gradually, additional developmentally appropriate activities including music, movement and manipulative toys are introduced to further develop cognitive, fine motor, physical and social/emotional growth.
