Young Preschool Program

The YPS program continues to promote social interaction, problem solving, language development, cognitive development and fine and gross motor skills through art, music, dramatic play, science, circle time and more. Each child has the opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills in this warm and friendly environment. "Potty learning" is encouraged in the program. Children will get their own "Potty Sticker Book" to help promote the process of "potty learning." The goal is to have the children potty trained by the time they graduate into the Preschool program. The YPS outside play yard is set up for this age group with the opportunity to run, climb, slide, etc.

In the late afternoon hours (5:30 - 6:30), the YPS and PS combine classrooms. By combining these age groups, it enables the children to interact with each other and become more familiar with the preschool classroom.

Preschool Program

Preschool is an exciting, fun place where children discover the wonders of their environment through play and hands-on experiences. Our preschool program manager, along with the preschool teachers, develops and refreshes our curriculum of music/movement, art, science, math, language arts and dramatic play every year. The multi-cultural, integrated curriculum is designed with a balance of structure and "free play" activities scheduled at various times of the day.

Written annual curriculum plans for both the YPS and Preschool programs are always available to parents. They are posted throughout the year in the classrooms and on the bulletin board in the hallway near the preschool entrance
