Santa Rosa
North Bay Children's Center History

- In 1996, NBCC’s main campus was re-located to Marin County’s Hamilton Field, where we were the first non-profit community-based organization to relocate to the decommissioned Hamilton Air Force Base as part of the base conversion project.
- In 2004, we added our Novato Tinker Way site which houses a morning preschool program along with a before and after school School-Age Program.
- In September 2006, NBCC expanded into Sonoma County by opening two preschools and two before and after school programs at Petaluma’s Cherry Valley and McDowell elementary school sites in Petaluma serving an additional 145 children annually. In addition to tuition assistance available at the McDowell campus for income eligible families, NBCC also established its Garden of Eatin’ program to both school sites.
- In June 2009, NBCC again expanded its services in Sonoma County by opening two new school-readiness programs on the campuses at Steele Lane and James Monroe Elementary Schools serving an additional 60 low-income preschool children. Tuition assistance is available at both Santa Rosa sites.
